A beautiful day to play ball.

This was one of those rare spring days in Louisiana where the humidity was low, the breeze was cool, and the temps were high 70s.  It was gorgeous.  I could always go for more days like this.  It was indeed the perfect evening to play ball.
My brother Kyle.  He says all the pictures we have of him make him look mad but the truth is...that's how he photographs. I  tried to find ones where he was smiling.
My sister in law Amy and Nate.

My nephew Jackson.  He LOVES to play ball.
Chris nailed this photograph.  I'm going to have to print it out because it's the best photograph of anyone.

Nate's birthday trip to Utah

Tyler, Gavin, and Nate playing ball
Ross, Mom, and Norma.  The weather was gorgeous.  Hard to imagine it was March in Utah.  The best part was the kids stayed outside playing.  It made it really easy for the adults to relax.
 Mom, Norma, and Brian.
 Ross and Don.
My niece Leah.  She'll be turning two and this was the first time I'd met her.  She was super cute.  Her Mom had been working with her and she'd point and me and Nate and say our names.  It was nice that she knew our names.  Maybe it won't be 3 years before I get to Utah again.
 Nate's b-day cake.
Party at Grandma's.  Can you tell he's a little overwhelemed.  I don't think he's ever had this many people in one place for his birthday.
My brother Stuart and his family.
This year for the grandchildren's birthday my Mom has been making memories w/the grandchild instead of just sending money.  So Nate and Grandma went to the Hunger Games movie and then out to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch.  Who would have thought we would have been in Utah the day after Nate's birthday.

Teach them while they're young

To know me is to know how unusual this is.  First, I don't iron.  Seriously, I don't iron.  Isn't that why dry cleaners were invented?  If you ever saw Nate's clothing drawers you would understand WHY he needed to iron before going to a youth fireside.

Shooting

Sometimes I think all the boys do is go shooting.

I'm not sure if Nate is watching Chris or the pigeon.

Catching a lizard and shooting pigeons

I received a text message from Nate informing me one Saturday afternoon that he had caught a lizard in the house but not to worry.  He'd taken care of it.
My first thought was...Hmmm...just a lizard.  Glad it wasn't a snake.  And...a lizard isn't that bad.  Little did I know Nate and Chris were playing with the poor thing for releasing in the front yard.

Makes it seem unfair.  Such a tiny little lizard verus Goliath here.
Considering he still has his tail I don't think he was too upset.  By the number of pictures Chris took I am told the lizard was quite unconsidered with what was going on.  Now if I'd been the only person home that thing would have bit me or something.

Oh, I'm sorry.  Did you think I met real pigeons?  Just clay ones.  It'd been a while since the boys had been out shooting.  It's amazing how quickly the weekends fill up with activies.
